This Privacy Policy explains how KAPEHORN Inc. ("Kapehorn", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information of users ("you") of RUNuts, our virtual reality multiplayer game distributed through the Meta Horizon Store, and our website at runutsvr.com (together, the "Services").
We are headquartered in the Republic of Korea. By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you launch RUNuts on Meta Quest, we automatically receive from Meta:
• Your Meta User ID (a unique numeric identifier)
• Your display name and basic profile information
• Meta age category (child, teen, or adult)
We do not directly create or administer your account. All accounts are managed by Meta. You may also contact us by email at helper@kapehorn.io.
1.2 Gameplay Data
While you play RUNuts, we collect:
• In-game actions, match results, and session activity
• Equipped cosmetics, owned items, and account progression
• Friend and party interactions during matchmaking
• Voice chat usage indicator (not content; see Section 1.4)
• Reports submitted by other users about your conduct
1.3 Purchase Information
When you purchase Golden Nuts or other in-app items:
• The purchase is processed by Meta. We do not receive your payment card or banking information.
• We receive a record of the transaction (item, amount, date, Meta-issued receipt ID) for inventory and customer support purposes.
1.4 Voice Chat and Communication
RUNuts uses Vivox (operated by Unity Technologies) for in-game voice chat.
• During matches, your voice is transmitted in real time to other players in your room. We do not record or permanently store voice chat content in normal operation.
• If another user reports you for misconduct, a short audio clip may be temporarily captured for moderation review. See Section 5 for details.
1.5 Device and Diagnostic Data
• Device model (Meta Quest 2/3/3S/Pro), operating system version
• Hardware capabilities relevant to performance (CPU/GPU class)
• Crash reports, error logs, performance metrics (via Sentry)
• Network connection type and approximate region (derived from IP)
• IP address (used only for region detection, anti-abuse, and the duration necessary to deliver real-time multiplayer)
1.6 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from:
• Meta: account identifiers, entitlement status, age category
• Payment processors via Meta: confirmation of purchases
• Other users: reports about your behavior
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
• Operate, maintain, and improve RUNuts
• Authenticate you and prevent unauthorized account access
• Match you with other players and run multiplayer sessions
• Deliver in-app purchases and maintain your inventory
• Detect and prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse
• Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations
• Conduct analytics to understand how RUNuts is used
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for targeted advertising on third-party platforms.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only as described below.
3.1 Service Providers
We engage trusted vendors to operate the Services. Each provider is bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
• Meta Platforms, Inc. — Account, entitlement, in-app purchases, store. Data shared: Meta User ID, purchase events.
• Photon (Exit Games, Inc.) — Real-time multiplayer networking. Data shared: session identifiers, room state.
• Vivox (Unity Technologies) — Voice chat transmission. Data shared: voice audio (real-time only).
• PlayFab (Microsoft Azure) — Player accounts, inventory, economy. Data shared: Meta User ID, inventory, currency, gameplay events.
• Sentry — Crash and error reporting. Data shared: device info, stack traces, anonymized session IDs.
• Unity Analytics — Aggregate gameplay analytics. Data shared: anonymized event logs.
3.2 Public Information
Certain information is visible to other players during normal use of the Services. This includes your display name and voice during matches, and your performance on public leaderboards.
3.3 Legal Reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
• Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
• Enforce our Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations
• Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues
• Protect the rights, property, or safety of Kapehorn, our users, or the public
3.4 Business Transfers
If Kapehorn is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the protections of this Policy.
3.5 With Your Consent
For any other purpose disclosed at the time of collection or with your consent.
4. Children's Privacy
RUNuts is designed for players aged 13 and older. We support younger players (ages 10 to 12) only through Meta's Parent-Managed Account system, which requires verified parental consent through Meta.
4.1 Age Requirements
• Aged 13 or older: full access to RUNuts features
• Aged 10 to 12 (Meta Parent-Managed Account only): access permitted only when a parent or legal guardian has set up the Parent-Managed Account and approved RUNuts for download through Meta
• Under 10: not permitted
4.2 COPPA (United States)
For users in the United States, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). We rely on the Parent-Managed Account system administered by Meta to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from a child under 13.
4.3 Parental Rights
A parent or legal guardian of a child user may at any time:
• Review the personal information we have collected from the child
• Request that we correct or delete that information
• Request that we delete the child's RUNuts account
• Refuse further collection or use of the child's personal information
Requests may be sent to helper@kapehorn.io. We may require verification of identity and authority before responding.
4.4 Inadvertent Collection
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without proper consent, we will delete that information promptly.
5. Voice Chat Data
5.1 Real-Time Transmission
Voice audio is transmitted between players in real time through Vivox. During normal play, voice audio is not recorded, stored, monitored, or reviewed by Kapehorn or any third party.
5.2 Reporting and Short-Term Recording
When a user reports another player for misconduct (using the in-game report feature), our system may temporarily store a short audio clip to allow moderation review. The clip is associated only with the reported player's Meta User ID and is not linked to other accounts.
The clip is reviewed by Kapehorn. We do not share voice recordings with third-party moderation providers at this time. If we engage a third-party moderation service in the future, we will update this Policy.
5.3 Retention and Deletion
• Recorded voice clips are retained only for as long as necessary to investigate and act on the report, typically no longer than 90 days.
• If a violation is confirmed, the clip is retained as evidence for the duration of any active appeal period, then deleted or de-identified.
• If no violation is found, the clip is deleted within 30 days.
• We do not generate voiceprints or any other biometric identifier from voice data.
5.4 Your Choices
You can:
• Mute any other player in-game at any time
• Use Meta's headset-level microphone controls
6. International Transfers
Kapehorn is located in the Republic of Korea. Some of our service providers are located in the United States, the European Union, and other regions. Your information may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in countries outside your country of residence.
For transfers from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (or equivalent UK and Swiss mechanisms) where required.
7. Your Rights
You may request to:
• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your personal information
• Object to or restrict our processing
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Receive a copy of your data (portability), where applicable
• Appeal our decisions on the above
Send your request to helper@kapehorn.io with the subject line "Privacy Request". We may verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (in most cases, within 30 days). We do not charge a fee and will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Measures include encryption of data in transit, access controls based on the principle of least privilege, and regular security reviews. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a personal data breach that creates a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority and affected users in accordance with applicable law.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies (Website)
Our website at runutsvr.com may use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, analytics, and remembering your preferences. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
The RUNuts game application on Meta Quest does not use browser cookies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top.
